Join the Little Landers Historical Society at 1 p.m. Sept. 9 at Bolton Hall Museum for at look at Chumash healing and the use of medicinal plants.
The slide program will include a hands-on look at medicinal plants. The program will be presented by an exceptional team, Cecilia Garcia, a practicing Chumash healer, educated by her grandfather, and Dr. James Adams Jr., an associate professor of pharmacology at the University of Southern California. The combination of a healer and professor will add a different dimension to our understanding in the use of herbs.
A new museum exhibit, "A Musical Journey," will open following the "Chumash Healing & Use of Medicinal Plants" program. Join Little Landers for a reception and retrospective of music in the Rancho Tujunga and nearby areas beginning with the Tongva and Chumash, and continuing through the Mission and Californio eras.
