Police Request Help with Hit-and-Run Accident

Glendale police are asking for the public's help with identifying the driver in a hit-and-run accident that happened around 8 p.m. on Aug. 6 near Pennsylvania Avenue and Rimhill Road in La Crescenta.

According to Officer John Balian, a white, four-door BMW was driving south on Pennsylvania when it hit two cars parked in the driveway of a home in the 3200 block of Rimhill in La Crescenta.

Myranda Marsh and Dave Hogan live in the Rimhill home.

"I heard a big bang," Marsh said. "I looked out and [at first] didn't see anything."

By the time Marsh and Hogan had walked out to their driveway, the BMW had fled the scene. What they found was that cars had been damaged.

"My Toyota Corolla had been shoved three feet over and two feet forward," Marsh said. "It rammed one side into a tree."

It also damaged the rear end of Hogan's Toyota Tacoma pickup truck.

Neighbors who had witnessed the accident contacted Marsh.

"They came up and asked me if I knew what had happened," Marsh said.

Unfortunately she had not seen anything, but her neighbors had. "They told me that after hitting the vehicles they stopped the car. They [the driver and passenger] got out and switched seats. Then they drove off."

"We have been complaining [about the traffic] for years," Hogan said. "Cars have come down Pennsylvania and Markridge [Road] on two wheels."

Hogan and Marsh said cars travel down Pennsylvania at a high rate of speed and try to make a quick turn at Markridge and Rimhill, resulting in accidents. They have found pieces of broken car mirrors and windshields on their street before but had never had a car come up into their driveway before last Saturday.

The police are looking for the white BMW. Police describe the driver and passenger as a Middle Eastern man and woman. They are asking anyone who has information on this hit-and-run accident to contact Glendale Police Department at 548-4818.
