SALGADO — YOUNG
Valerie Salgado and Jonathan Young, both of Astoria, N.Y., have announced their engagement.
The bride-to-be is the daughter of Cesar and Michele Salgado of La Cañada Flintridge. She graduated from Crescenta Valley High School in 2000 and UC Irvine in 2004, where she majored in dance.
She is co-founder of Foothill Hoops Basketball League in New York and is director of Kids in Sports New York.
The groom-elect is the son of Robert and Anne Young of Glendale. His mother is the former Anne Phinney who grew up in Burbank. He graduated from Crescenta Valley High School in 2000 and UC Santa Barbara in 2004, where he was a psychology and drama major.
