Free Classical Concert Featuring the Works of Mozart, Schubert and Franck

Violinist Hristo Popov and pianist Deltcho Deltchev, who both hail from Bulgaria, will be joining forces to form a collaborative duo in performing works by Mozart, Schubert and Franck. The concert takes place on Friday, Oct., 27 at 8 p.m. at the Glendale Brand Library and Art Center at 1601 W. Mountain St., Glendale.

The concert launches the release of their album "Franz Schubert: Sonatas for Violin and Piano" and is free to the public.

Popov and Deltchev have both performed extensively throughout Europe and the United States as soloists, in chamber ensembles and with orchestras. The evening's performance marks their west coast debut as a collaborative duo.

Hristo Popov brings tremendous experience to the concert stage. Popov made his orchestra debut at the age of 9 and he has performed throughout the United States, England, Germany, Czech Republic, Poland, Bulgaria, Italy, Switzerland and Mexico. He is a founding member of Trio Casalmaggiore and has been playing with them since 1998. Popov has appeared as guest artist in festivals including Park City International Music Festival, Plovdiv Chamber Music Festival, and the Sofia Summer Chamber Music Festival.

Deltcho Deltchev is currently performing extensively throughout the United States and Europe.

Recent European engagements have included the Kazanluk Art Museum, the Cultural Embassy in Stara Zagora, Casa Verdi in Milan, Italy and numerous recitals across the United Kingdom. Engagements in the United States this season have included solo recitals at the Goethe Institute, the Cultural Center of Cleveland, Ohio and the prestigious Chilton Club of Boston.
