The Crescenta Valley Chamber of Commerce has announced its awardees for the 2006 recognition banquet that will be held on Thursday, Dec. 7 at the La Cañada Country Club.
According to Jean Maluccio, executive director of the Crescenta Valley Chamber of Commerce, these individuals and businesses are being recognized for "improving the quality of life for our community by making significant contributions."
The Woman of the Year is Mary Pinola, founder of the Mary Pinola Educational Endowment Fund; Man of the Year is Mike Lawler, Crescenta Valley Historical Society; Volunteer of the Year is Steve Pierce, Crescenta Valley Town Council (among other organizations); Educator of the Year is Nick Doom of Clark Magnet School; Business of the Year is Kemsley Shows; Organization of the Year is Glendale Clean and Beautiful; Beautification Awardee is Crescenta Valley High School. Other awardees include members of the Los Angeles County Fire Department, the Glendale Police Department and Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.
