Pancakes and Rummage Sale at Rosemont

November 03, 2006|By Mary O'Keefe

Anyone who loves pancakes and a good deal should head to Rosemont Middle School this Saturday morning for the Fifth Annual Rosemont Middle School Rummage Sale and Pancake Breakfast.

The morning event is to help off set the costs of the students' trip to New York sponsored by the history department. The seven days and seven nights excursion will lead students through history following the Erie canal to Hudson and onto West Point where they will have lunch in the cadets cafeteria.

"We will go to Grants Tomb and will end up in Manhattan where we will see the new Broadway play, 'Mary Poppins'," said Lynn McGinnis, Rosemont history teacher.

About 75 students are scheduled to go on the trip, and each child is responsible for their travel cost of about $2,000.

Items for the rummage sale have been coming into the school on a daily basis, McGinnis said.

The festivities run from 7 to 10 a.m. Tickets for the pancake breakfast are $5 per person and are available at the door. The breakfast will be in the cafeteria; the sale will be on the covered patio. The event continues rain or shine.
