Economic Forecast for '07

November 17, 2006

What is the economic forecast for 2007?

That was the big question that Dr. Robert Kleinhenz, deputy chief economist with the California Association of Realtors tried to answer at Dilbeck Realtors GMAC Real Estate's recent Economic Update.

With over 300 Dilbeck agents in attendance, Kleinhenz made it clear that even though the market has slowed. "The news is good for 2007," he said. "The job market is strong and it is moving slowly but steadily ... interest rates are still low and inflation is in check."

"Home prices will post a small decline," he continued, "but the sales pace will stabilize throughout 2007."

All in all, Kleinhenz felt that there will be no doom and gloom in 2007, but the year will reflect California's expanding population and economy.

Yes, the Southern California real estate market will continue to be good in 2007.
