November 17, 2006|By Nick Mousseau

The Holy Redeemer "B" Crusaders football team beat St. Bede's team, 14-6, last week to finish off a great season.

The Crusaders ended St. Bede's first possession when Niles Wilson intercepted a pass to score a touchdown, followed by a two-point conversion run by Travis Palazzolo.

In the second and third quarters, neither team managed to score, but they both made excellent plays and drove the ball up and down the field.

Half way through the second quarter, a St. Bede's running back pierced through the Crusaders' defense, but was chased down and tackled by Travis Palazzolo.

In the third quarter, there was also many good running plays by the Crusaders. In the fourth quarter, Crusaders' quarterback Richie Alfonso passed to Palazzolo in a "RAC" play to score a touchdown. St. Bede's scored once in the fourth quarter, but it was too little, too late.

In a play that looked similar to the first play of the game, the Crusaders' Niles Wilson intercepted a pass, ending St. Bede's final possession. This was a very exciting game.

Crusaders' basketball season begins in January.
