Verdugo Hills Hospital invites new parents to attend an Infant Care Workshop on Tuesday, Dec. 5, from 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Using life-like dolls, expecting parents can learn how to change diapers, bathe and hold their baby, take their temperature and basic First Aid. The cost is $30 for hospital couples and $35 for non-hospital couples. To register, call Teri Rice in the Family Education Office at 952-2272. Verdugo Hills Hospital is offering a free introduction to childbirth class, called Beginnings, on Thursday, Dec. 7, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. The class covers topics such as baby growth and nutrition, dealing with the discomforts of pregnancy and includes a tour of the hospital's Birth Center. Teri Rice, Family Education program coordinator recommends women sign up as soon as their pregnancy is confirmed. To register, call Teri at 952-2272. Getting a new brother or sister in the family can take some getting used to and Verdugo Hills Hospital is offering a workshop, called Big Kids, on Saturday, Dec. 9, to help children adjust to living with a younger sibling. The class takes place from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. and costs $20 per family for hospital patients and $25 for non-hospital patients. To register, call 952-2272.
