TEMPLE SINAI HAS HANUKKAH PARTY

Temple Sinai is planning a Hanukkah celebration at 5 p.m. Dec. 17 at the temple, 1212 N. Pacific Ave., Glendale.

There will be the lighting of menorahs, the playing with dreidels and the eating of the potato pancakes called latkes. But this year's Hanukkah celebration at Temple Sinai will be a holiday treat to remember with help from the Disney Worldwide Outreach Program.

Hanukkah, known as the Festival of Lights, is an eight-day holiday that commemorates the victory of the Maccabees against persecution, the rededication of the Jerusalem Temple and the miracle of the oil that burned there for eight days.
