COMMUNITY COMMENTARY:Thanks for construction

Two elderly women dared to come to our café through this scary obstacle course. They were seated inside and delightfully twittering about this nice little man that held their hands while walking across the street. I said, "Pardon me, but that happens to be Vic, the head of the construction company."

Construction at the mini park goes on without a hitch. Contractor Viddo Samaravich and I have become friends, and he and his crew have breakfast and coffee at our café.

Here is another case of the city hiring a contractor who is very knowledgeable and has a lot of expertise. When this occurs, you don't need much guidance.

On another issue, our trellis. After six years, we finally have one. More importantly, we had great support in decoration the trellis and our sad little replacement tree (again). It had also been agreed upon by the painters and contractor that the second coat of paint would be put on after the holidays, so our decorating could go on schedule for the tree-lighting ceremony and Santa Claus.

Well, after waiting six years for our trellis, we now have an immediate schedule to finish painting the trellis and all our decorations are to be removed.

Does Dr. Seuss and the Grinch have an option on Adams Square? Well, the good thing is that as of recently, our trellis is still decorated.
