Kicking off the new year for the Network Breakfasts is speaker Pete Smith, general manager of Bob Smith Toyota. He will be making a presentation on "Sales and Marketing Techniques" on Thursday morning, Jan. 4, at 7 a.m. in the Verdugo Hills Hospital's Community Room.

Smith is a lifetime Crescenta Valley resident. He attended Loyola High School and graduated in 1988. He went to Fairfield University, receiving his bachelors degree in 1992. He worked as an account executive with Metlife selling group life insurance and managing a multi-million dollar book of business. In 1995, he started working with his dad, Mike, and has never looked back. Smith says that estimates are that the dealership will sell over 2000 vehicles this year and service over 20,000 cars.

Smith has been married to wife Christine for 12 years and they have three children: PJ, 8, McKenna, 6, and Charlie, 20 months.
