Montrose-Verdugo City Chamber of Commerce:Message from the New President

January 12, 2007|By Liz Church

Special thanks to the everyone who attended the Annual Installation and Community Awards Dinner at the La Cañada Country Club last night. Not only did we honor those individuals and organizations who have contributed so much to our community, but welcomed in our new president and her board of directors.

New 2007 President Bea Blessley had this to say to the community: "The Montrose-Verdugo City Chamber of Commerce is an institution that has successfully achieved bringing community and its business sector together through many events, such as the Art Walks, held four times a year, as well as the Montrose Oktoberfest, an annual event that brings out the whole town plus many others from neighboring communities, and our monthly member mixers, to name just a few. The Chamber has its finger on the pulse on the community.

"The Chamber is also the key for a new business being established in the community. Being a member is one of the fastest means for a business owner to let the community know who they are and what they do. Ribbon cutting ceremonies are held for new members, with accompanying photos released in all the local papers, so the word quickly spreads around town.

"Additionally, networking opportunities abound for business people who are already established, as well as for the new business owner who wants to know, and be known by, the residents in the Crescenta Valley.

"The Chamber welcomes residential membership for those residents who want to be a part of our many activities.

"I look forward to being the president of the chamber in 2007 and will continue the fine traditions established by those before me. I welcome all business owners in the area to join our Chamber and enjoy the many benefits it has to offer. This year I will work toward fulfilling the goal of bringing the community and business together to increase commerce and opportunities for the people who choose to live and work in this wonderful area."
