CVTC Installing New Members

January 12, 2007|By Charles Cooper

The Crescenta Valley Town Council will be holding its ceremonial installation of the 2007 council members and officers on Thursday, Jan. 18, at 7 p.m. The installation will be taking place at the Sheriff's Station at 4554 Briggs Ave.

This Council is made up of five officers, President Grace Andrus, Vice President Krista Smiley, Recording Secretary Charles Beatty, Treasurer Steve Pierce, and Corresponding Secretary Robert Thomas; five new members Bruce Campbell, Curtis Cleven, alternates Frank Beyt, Dennis Van Bremen, and Virginia Choate; and members Danette Erickson, and Sharon Raghavachary.

Supervisor Michael Antonovich will lead the ceremony. The former council members are expected to return to receive certificates of appreciation for their years of volunteer service to the Crescenta Valley Town Council. The 2007 Council had its first executive committee meeting on Thursday, Jan. 4. Three specific items that President Andrus wishes to address immediately are making the general meetings more public-friendly by working toward meeting in a larger room, shortening the agenda while still allowing adequate time for community input, and developing a master community calendar that will be available on the website (www.yourtowncouncil.org) and at the general meetings.

At the first meeting, President Andrus also set committee protocol and standards for communication from and among Council members which she hopes will help thrust the 2007 Council forward as they work with residents and businesses in unincorporated Montrose and La Crescenta to solve issues that arise.
