CV Chamber of Commerce Holds Installation Luncheon

The La Cañada Country Club was the site for the annual Crescenta Valley Chamber of Commerce Installation Luncheon held on Tuesday, Jan. 16.

The chamber welcomes Howard Hakes of Hitchcock Automotive as its new president, Grace Chase of the Desi Geestman Foundation steps up as vice president and Leslie Lesh of Leo's All-Star Bar & Grill undertakes the responsibilities of honorary mayor.

Returning to their previous positions are Craig Fisher of Craig's Electric, chamber treasurer and Liza Morelli of Bonner's Equipment Rentals, chamber secretary.

The directors that were sworn in include Kate Bernier of Montrose Travel; Warren Boehm of Farmers Insurance; Connie Cobb of the UPS Stores; Rick Dinger of Crescenta Valley Insurance; Dave Drucker of Verdugo Hills Contact Lens; Leonard Ghazarian of Caspian Services; Robin Goldsworthy of the Crescenta Valley Sun; Ira Hart, former honorary mayor; Holly Heurkins of Crescenta Valley Insurance; Aram Ordubegian of Weinstein, Weiss & Ordubegian Law Firm; and Steve Pierce of the Crescenta Valley Town Council.

A warm adieu was extended to Joyce Gelsinger and Neil Ryan who have decided to step off the board after serving for so many years.

A highlight of the afternoon was disbursements from the Mary Pinola/Crescenta Valley Chamber Educational Endowment Fund. Eleven organizations received funds to further their contributions to the community. The recipient organizations were the Roger Barkley Foundation; Crescenta Valley High School Prom Plus Committee; Crescenta Valley High School Air Force JROTC; Crescenta Valley High School Instrumental Music Program; CV CAN; Crescenta Valley High School Student Body; Fremont Elementary School Fourth Grade Science Class; Glendale Healthy Kids; Rosemont Middle School History Department; Rosemont Middle School 7th & 8th Grade Foods Class; Verdugo Hills Hospital Foundation.

Past chamber president Rick Dinger invited luncheon attendees to upcoming events including the next chamber mixer on Tuesday, Feb. 13 hosted by Bonner's Equipment Rentals, the Prom Plus Pre-Spring Fling Home Tour on Feb. 24, the Network Breakfast taking place at Verdugo Hills Hospital on Thursday morning, March 1 and the Mary Pinola/Crescenta Valley Chamber Educational Endowment Fund Smart-A-Thon on Wednesday, March 28 at Verdugo Hills Hospital.
