The Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra will be led by Ignat Solzhenitsyn from the piano at 7:30 p.m. at the Alex Theatre, 216 N. Brand Blvd., Glendale. Solzhenitsyn is the music director of the Chamber Orchestra of Philadelphia. The program is Mozart's Divertimento in D major for strings, K. 136 and Piano Concerto No. 27 in B-flat major, K. 595 and Mendelssohn's Symphony No. 4 in A major, Italian, Op. 90. Margaret Batjer, violinist, will lead the Divertimento from the first chair. Solzhenitsyn will play/conduct the concerto, and will conduct the Mendelssohn. The 14th annual Jewel City Kiwanis Car Show will be from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Verdugo Park, 1621 Cañada Blvd., Glendale. More than 300 classic and collectible cars will be on display with addition to a few motorcycles. Admission is free. For more information, call (818) 370-6930.
