Linda Evans to be Sole Principal of CVHS

May 11, 2007|By Mary O'Keefe

Four months after Crescenta Valley High School co-principal Mike Livingston left the school to become the district's director of Student Services, a decision has been made that Linda Evans will assume the reins as sole principal.

"I am honored to be entrusted with this position," Evans said.

Evans' life has been intertwined with CVHS since she attended the school as a student.

"I was a teacher here [in 1983], then a dean, an assistant principal, a co-principal and now a principal," Evans said.

Superintendent Michael Escalante had meetings with parents, teachers and administrators before making the decision. The high school will now have an associate principal and three assistant principals. The associate position will be a level above the assistant principals. The district has yet to announce who will fill the associate principal position.

Since Livingston's departure in January, Evans has been acting as sole principal, so the transition should be seamless.

"Everyone here picked up the slack since Mike left," Evans said.

"This school has many leaders, [and the] collaboration between students, parents and community leaders all serve the students well," she said. "This is just an honor."
