Los Angeles Opera's Education and Community Programs Department will present two Los Angeles Opera artists in a free concert at 2 p.m. at the Brand Library Recital Hall, 1601 W. Author Margaret Ajemian Ahnert will be reading and signing copies of her book, "The Knock at the Door: A Journey Through the Darkness of the Armenian Genocide," at 2 p.m. at the Barnes & Noble of Glendale, 245 N. Glendale Ave., Glendale. Ahnert's memoir recalls how her mother survived the genocide as a teenager during World War I and eventually came to the United States.
