Turkish scholar Taner Akcam will sign his book, "A Shameful Act: The Armenian Genocide and the Question of Turkish Responsibility," at 7 p.m. at Pacific Park Branch Library, 501 S. Pacific Ave., Glendale. Akcam is widely recognized as one of the first Turkish scholars to write authoritatively on the genocide of the Armenians in the early 20th century. Admission is free. Concert pianist Eldred Marshall will perform a full recital consisting of popular works by Ludwig van Beethoven at 7:30 p.m. at the Brand Library Recital Hall, 1601 W. Mountain St., Glendale. Among the repertoire he will perform are the "Les Adieux" and "Appassionata" sonatas. He will also perform the sister sonata to the famous "Moonlight" sonata along with some early works. The concert is free to the but donations are accepted. He has performed in recital throughout the United States, Italy, Spain and the Republic of San Marino.

The Casa de Ramos restaurant will be hosting "Dine Around Town" from 5 to 8 p.m. with proceeds from dinner benefiting GAR Services at the Glendale Assn. for the Retarded. The restaurant is at 827 W.
