Katie Watson — $1,000

My name is Katherine Watson and I attend Hoover High School. This $1,000 Scholarship will go toward my tuition at California State University of Northridge. I aspire to become a Junior High history teacher with a Masters in both History and Education. I played soccer in Glendale for many years.

Sue Jin Park — $1,000

My name is Sue Jin Park. I attend Hoover High School. I have been awarded $1,000, which will help me attend University of California, Berkeley as a business major. Throughout high school, I have been involved in various activities such as Key Club, French Club, Girl's Volleyball, and the school newspaper.

Sue Kim — $1,000

My name is Sue Kim. I am honored to receive $1,000 from the Glendale Community Foundation. I attend Hoover High School, and will attend the University of California, Berkeley as a Biology Major this fall. Active in my school community, I am the Varsity Tennis Captain and Vice President of Academics and California Scholarship Federation.

Arpa Avanessian — $1,000

My name is Arpa Avanessian and I attend Herbert Hoover High School. I have been awarded a $1,000 scholarship in which I will use at University of California, Los Angeles in the fall of 2007 as I major in biology and minor in Spanish. I intend on being in the medical field.

Ruzan Stepanyan — $1,000

My name is Ruzan Stepanyan. I am a senior in Hoover High School. I received a $1,000 scholarship. I got into the University of California, Berkeley. But I am planning to go to Glendale Community College, and transfer to the University of California, Los Angeles. I am going to major in political science and go to a law school after getting my bachelors degree. I am the president of the Russian Club. I have participated in the Relay for Life Program, and raised money for cancer survivors.

Teny Nazari — $1,000

My name is Teny Nazari and attend Herbert Hoover High School. I have been given a $1,000 scholarship. I am going to attend the University of California, Los Angeles in the fall and plan to double major in physiological science and art history. I hope to eventually pursue a career in medicine.

Cynthia Velasquez — $500
