Glendale Scholarship Endowment Awardees

Ava Khomami Fayaz —

$500 + $500

My name is Ava Khomami Fayaz. For the past four years I have attended Glendale High School. I have received two scholarship awards for five hundred dollars each, one from the Oakmont League and another from the Glendale Foundation. It is a pleasure for me to attend California State University of Northridge as a freshman, this coming fall. My major in English and I plan on attending Law School after my undergraduate programs, to pursue a career as an Entertainment Lawyer.

Sarmen Hakopian — $500

My name is Sarmen Hakopian and I'm currently a senior at Glendale High School. I have received a $500 scholarship from the Glendale Scholarship Endowment. I plan to attend Glendale Community College in the hopes of later transferring to the University of Southern California. My goal is to receive a real estate license and become a business major with a minor in psychology. I also plan to stay physically fit by playing soccer at the highest possible level.

Anna Haroutiounian — $500

My name is Anna Haroutiounian and I am attending Glendale High School. I was awarded $500. I plan to attend California State University Northridge and major in Anthropology, focusing on Archaeology. I am a member of the American Red Cross Youth Group and I have volunteered more than 100 hours of community service.

Gaming Li — $500

My name is Gaming Li and I attend Glendale High School. I will receive a $500 scholarship and will be attending the University of California, Los Angeles this fall. I am planning to pursue a career in the medical field. I am the Senior Class President and involved in Track and Field.

Cynthia Vickery — $500

My name is Cynthia Vickery and I am attending Glendale High School. I've been awarded a $500 dollar scholarship. I plan to major in Baking and Pastry Arts at GCC and transfer to the Art Institute in Santa Monica. I have actively participated in the Bistro program for 3 years.

Mark Nayra — $1,000

My name is Mark Nayra. I am a varsity volleyball player at Glendale High School. I am going to attend PCC and plan to transfer to UCLA. I plan to major in Civil Engineering. This scholarship will really contribute to my hopes and dreams in the future.
