Glendale Scholarship Endowment Awardees

My name is Cynthia Velasquez and I attend Hoover High School. I was given the $500 scholarship. I am attending Cal Poly Pomona this fall and I am majoring in Graphic Design. For two years, I participated as a mentor in the program La Vanguardia to encourage middle school students to attend college

Joanna Cordero — $1,000

Joanna Cordero is Hoover High School's Student Body President. Varsity Cheer Captain and Copy Editor of the Tornado Times. Attending the University of California, Santa Barbara in the fall. She will major in Communications and put her $1,000 endowment to good use. She hopes to pursue a career in advertising.

Vahan Torosian — $1,000

My name us Vahan Torosian and I am currently a senior at Herbert Hoover High School. After graduation, I plan to attend the University of California, San Diego and major in Biology. I am fortunate enough to receive a $1,000 scholarship from the Glendale Scholarship Foundation, for which I am greatly thankful, and commend the organization for helping young students with financial needs.

Tatevik Khachatryan — $1,000

My name is Tatevik Khachatryan. I am a student at Herbert Hoover High School. I have received a scholarship award of one thousand dollars. I will use my scholarship at the University of California, San Diego to pursue my major in Biology in order to obtain a career as an optometrist.

My name is Alla Gevorgyan. I am a student at Herbert Hoover High School and I have received a scholarship of $1,000. I will attend the University of California, Irvine. I will major in Biology. I have been involved in community service and school clubs.

My name is Anna Meloyan and I attend Hoover High School. I received a scholarship award of $500, which I will use to embark on my journey at a community college with hopes of attending a reputable university in the near future.
