My name is Anna Harutyanyan. I came to the United States of America in 2001, and now I am a senior at Herbert Hoover High School. This year I got an opportunity to fill out an application for a scholarship. Two days ago I received a letter where I found out that I got a $500 award. I am very thankful that I was worthy of it. Next year, I am planning to go to Glendale Community College to continue my education. I want to become a surgeon, so I am going to continue to study very hard. I am very serious about my future career, and I'll do my best to reach my goal.

Nayera Senane — $500

My name is Nayera Senane, I attend Herbert Hoover High School and I am planning on attending Glendale Community College after high school then transferring to the University of California, Los Angeles to major in chemistry or biology.

Arsen Musulyan — $500

My name is Arsen Musulyan. I am attending Hoover High School. I was awarded $500 scholarship. I plan to attend Glendale Community College. I major at college will be communication studies to prepare me for my future career which is lawyer. I have volunteered for Chahe Keroukelian (candidate for a city council). This will help my major because I plan to study law.

Lala Shabani — $500

My name is Lala Shabani and I currently attend Herbert Hoover High School. I've been awarded $500 from the Glendale Community Foundation. I have dreams of transferring to the University of California, Los Angeles after completing a year at Glendale Community College. I'm also hoping to advance to law school after earning my Bachelors in Political Science (minor: Economics). I'm currently working at the City of Glendale Finance Dept. and Hoover High School's after school tutoring Homework Lab.

Andrea Vartanian — $500

My name is Andrea Vartanian and I attend Hoover High School. I am honored to receive a $500 scholarship from the Glendale Community Foundation. I will be attending Glendale Community College where I am currently applying for the Scholars Program. I plan to transfer to a University where I will study to become a math teacher. Throughout my four years of high school, I've dedicated many hours of community service which is why I received The Presidential Service Award from the White House and Hoover's Volunteer Service Medal.
