Talin Oromieh— $500

I am Talin Mehranian, Hoover High School's student. In my short time in the United States of America I made up my missing credits, which are required for graduation. I can never forget the first days of school in America, where I started as a junior last year. It was formidable to be in an American school without knowing English. I was confused and displaced, but due to supportive students and teachers I found myself.

Now I am graduating form Hoover High School With A $500 scholarship award. I have been selected as a recipient of a scholarship grant from the Glendale Foundation scholarship. After graduation, I will continue my education a Glendale Community College to study Pharmacy Technology. When I transfer to a University, I will continue my educational goal of becoming a Pharmacist. But academics are not my only pursuit. I also have a talent for playing tennis. In the summer of 2006 I joined the Hoover High School's Tennis team. I was one of the best players on the team but because of night school I could not continue on the team. I am gratified that I passed my two years in America with success and awards. I look forward to future challenges.

Susan Zargarian — $2,000
