My name is Susan Zargarian and I attend Hoover High School. I received the $2000 scholarship. I am attending the University of California, Los Angeles this fall and majoring in Biology or Chemistry, with plans of becoming a pediatrician. I participated in Relay for Life and was an AVID tutor at Toll Middle School my junior year.

Talar Tfnakjian — $500

My name is Talar Tfnakjian. I attend Herbert Hoover High School. The Glendale Community Foundation awarded me a generous amount of money totaling at $500. I plan to attend the Glendale Community College and then transfer to the University of California, Los Angeles. My interest field is genetic engineering. I have participated in Armenian Club in my high school and a Humanity Organization outside of school.

Tammy Zendejas — $1,000

My name is Tammy Zendejas, I attend Hoover High School, and have been involved in AVID, La Vanguardia, the Red Cross, and Relay for Life. I have been awarded $1,000, and I plan to attend the University of California, San Diego, to pursue a medical career.

Jessica Olivas $1,000

My name is Jessica Olivas and I attend Hoover High School. I plan to attend the University of Norte Dame with an accounting or finance major. I participated in clubs, as well as programs called AVID and La Vanguardia. My scholarship award was for $1,000.

Sharese Mirzakhanyan — $500

My name is Sharese Mirzakhanyan. I attend Herbert Hoover High School. I will be attending Glendale Community College for two years and transfer to the University of California, Riverside afterwards. I am not certain of what career I will pursue, but I am really interested in law. I have been thinking about getting into international law or corporate law. I created the first ever Fashion Club at Hoover and organized the first fashion show.

Justine Soliva — $1,000

I am Justine Soliva and I currently attend Hoover High School. Glendale Community Foundation has graciously awarded me with a $1,000 scholarship, which I plan to use in attendance at Glendale Community College to pursue a career in the field of Economics. I have had unique experiences in multiple musical activities such as Jazz Band and Drum Corps, but I have pursued musical and as well as my musical endeavors in school and outside of school have been the focus of my passion. I have devoted much of my time to my passion for music.
