The following items will be considered at Tuesday's Glendale City Council meeting:

EMPLOYEE BENEFITS

The council is slated to vote on whether to approve an urgency ordinance providing supplementary benefits and compensation of certain officers and city employees. The proposed increase reflects an increase in medical benefits rates.

The total cost of the proposed increase is $461,684.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Since the money is already appropriated in the city's budget, the council will likely adopt the ordinance.

STATE LEGISLATIVE PLATFORM

The council is slated to vote on whether to approve a state legislative platform, as recommended by the city's lobbying firm, Townsend Public Affairs, and approve each city department's priority projects.

City officials will discuss a legislative report by Townsend Public Affairs on state bills that could have an effect on the city.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Council will likely approve the platform.

CITY BUDGET HEARING

The council will conduct a hearing on the proposed budget for fiscal year 2007-08.

The proposed budget appropriates $670.6 million. The proposed general fund appropriation is $161.2 million.

WHAT TO EXPECT

There will likely be a good deal of discussion on the issue, which will likely end with the council directing staff to make modifications.
