Glendale Adventist, Vons Supermarket Partner for Fundraiser

Glendale Adventist Medical Center will be hosting an event with Vons Market on Sunday, Aug. 12, called Lights, Camera, Fight Cancer. Lisa Hernandez, reporter with KABC 7, will be the emcee for the event.

The event is a fundraiser that will include a fashion show, boutique and lunch. Proceeds will benefit the hospital's Cancer Center.

The goal is to raise more than $20,000 for the center. Showcasing the event will be models who are hospital patients (cancer survivors), physicians, hospital staff and Vons employees. According to event organizer from Glendale Adventist, Alicia Gonzalez, this is the first time that the cancer center has been involved in a fundraiser of this type.

"We're all very excited about the show," she said.

The event will be held on Sunday, Aug. 12 from 11:30 to 3 p.m. at the Glendale Hilton, 100 W. Glenoaks Blvd. in Glendale.

Tickets are available for $100 and includes lunch, boutique browsing and the fashion show.

The fashion show will feature costumes from Warner Bros., some designer pieces, and items worn by celebrities at special events and in movies and theatrical productions.
