La Cañada High needs coaches
La Cañada High School is seeking coaches for several sports for the upcoming season. Coaches are needed for junior varsity and frosh-sophomore girls' volleyball, boys' and girls' cross-country and wrestling.

CSUN baseball camps forming
The 2007 Northridge Baseball Camps and Training Academies, presented by Cal State Northridge baseball Coach and La Crescenta resident Steve Rousey, are currently in the enrollment process.
Both the four-day Day Camp and the four-week Training Academy are designed to develop physical ability in the areas of arm strength, hitting for power and foot speed, as well as to evaluate skill levels in fielding, hitting and pitching.
The camp is open to players ages 5-14 and will be offered Monday through Aug. 2 and Aug. 6-9 — with daily hours of 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. The cost is $260 with a lunch and snack provided.
The training academy is open to players 13 years old and older and will meet Monday through Thursday through Aug. 16. It consists of a hitting session from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. daily followed by a pitching session from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Campers may enroll in one or both of the sessions. The cost of each session is $650, or $1,100 for both.
The events will be conducted at Matador Baseball Field on the campus of Cal State Northridge. Parking for campers and their parents is available for the cost of $4 at the Halstead lot near the corner of Lindley and Halstead avenues.
