COUNCIL COORDINATING FUNDRAISER FOR HOSPITAL
The Women’s Council of Verdugo Hills Hospital Foundation will host The Main Event “Dreams of Fall” at 6 p.m. Oct. 27 at the Oakmont Country Club in Glendale.
The hospital’s annual fundraising event will include dinner, dancing, live and silent auctions and live entertainment.
The funds raised at The Main Event will be used primarily for assisting with the funding requirements for a new digital mammography machine at Verdugo Hills Hospital.
Auction items or monetary donations are welcome, said Women’s Council chairwoman Betty Hurn.
The Women’s Council cumulative contributions to the hospital are rapidly approaching $3 million. The council’s goal this year is to reach that milestone.
Individual tickets to The Main Event cost $150, and table sponsorships, with seating for eight, are $1,200. To reserve tickets or for more information on sponsorship options or donating an auction item, call (818) 952-2228.

YOUTH ORCHESTRA AUDITIONING FOR NEW MEMBERS
Glendale Youth Orchestra will have auditions from 3:30 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and Sept. 4 at the Hall of Liberty at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Hollywood Hills.
Musicians between grade 6 and the first two years of college are eligible.
The orchestra now has a new website, www.glendaleyouthorchestra.com, which includes updated performance information, the conductor’s biography, forms for ordering performance recordings and an opportunity to be added to the GYO mailing list.
It also includes applications for their auditions.
