The Glendale Historical Society presents a walking tour of Royal Boulevard from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The annual home tour will showcase the architectural distinction and history of Royal Boulevard. The area is the first applicant for the historic district status subsequent to the approval of Glendale’s award-winning Historic District Design Guidelines in 2006. Thirty period homes will be featured. Five diverse homes will be available for show via docent led interior tours. Free parking is available at the city parking lot at the southwest corner of Verdugo Avenue and Mountain Street. The cost is $20 for nonmembers and $15 for Glendale Historical Society members. The Glendale Historical Society and Glendale Quilt Guild present “Remembering People, Events and Places Through the Art of Quilt-Making” from 2 to 4 p.m. every Sunday in October at the Doctors’ House, 1601 W. Mountain St., Glendale. Vintage opportunity quilt will be offered for $1 each or six for $5. No reservations are needed for docent led tours. There is a suggested donation of $1. A golf conditioning workshop will be offered from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the Crescenta-Cañada Family YMCA, 1930 Foothill Blvd., La Cañada Flintridge through Oct. 30. Jim Netto, a personal trainer, will offer simple ways to assess muscle imbalances, explore effective stretching and a variety of exercises that will improve your strength and power. The Crescenta Valley Sierra Club will meet at 7:30 p.m. at the Montrose Citibank Building, 2350 Honolulu Ave., Montrose.
