Glendale Panthers ready to hold tryout
The Glendale YMCA Panthers will conduct a special tryout for the upcoming season.
The tryout for boys and girls will be held from noon to 2 p.m. Sunday at the Glendale YMCA, 140 N. Louise St., Glendale.
The tryouts will be for boys ages 7-13 and girls ages 8-14.
Age levels are determined by one’s age on Sept. 1, 2007.
Parents must attend and sign-up their children at the session.
Practices will be held in November and December.
The season, which will begin in January and conclude March 15, will feature games around Glendale and the San Fernando Valley.

St. Francis High annual Golf Classic
The 19th annual St. Francis High School Golf Classic will take place today at Brookside Golf Course, 1133 N. Rosemont Ave., Pasadena.
The cost is $185 per person and includes 18 holes of golf, cart, lunch, dinner, prizes and more.

Putting Tournament at the Greens
The Putting Tournament at the Greens, an event to raise money for the Crescenta Valley High baseball program, will begin at 3 p.m. Sunday at The Greens at Valencia, 26501 McBean Parkway, Valencia.
Registration will start at 2 p.m. with a shotgun start to follow.
A buffet dinner, prizes, raffles and a silent auction will be featured.
Contributions made to the Booster club are tax deductible.
Local businesses are encouraged to sponsor a hole and/or provide prizes or silent auction baskets.
Participants can solely attend the buffet dinner if they would rather not participate in the putting tournament.
