Crescenta Valley Chamber:

Business mixer planned plus a banquet, elections

November 09, 2007

We hope you will join us for the Nov. 14 mixer, hosted by several stores in the MarketPlace Shopping Center. The evening starts at 6 p.m. at the UPS Store, 2629 Foothill. From there you will visit (though not particularly in this order): Togo’s/Baskin Robbins, Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory, Baja Fresh and conclude at CalNational Bank.

New members will be introduced, prizes will be won and refreshments will be consumed. Businesses, be sure to bring your business cards. Cost for the mixer is $5 members, $7 for non-members.

On Nov. 15, we will be recognizing many distinguished individuals at the Annual Awards Banquet. The evening includes a flag ceremony performed by the CVHS ROTC Color Guard, followed by the National Anthem sung by sisters Rebecca Thomas, a student of Rosemont Middle School, and Tracey Thomas, a student at CVHS.

The banquet will be held at La Cañada Country Club and starts at 6 p.m. Presentations will be made following dinner.

On Saturday, Nov. 17, a ribbon-cutting will take place at the business of one of our newest members, Two Nice Guys Automotive, 2869 Foothill Blvd. We think you will find John Garden and Armen Agbhyarian are indeed two very nice guys. The ribbon-cutting takes place at 11:30 a.m. and includes a car show combined with Bruce’s Automotive.

TNG Automotive offers repairs on foreign and domestic cars, electrical diagnostics, air conditioning, smog tests and more. Come by and see for yourself. Refreshments will be served.

The Chamber’s Annual General Membership Meeting will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 21. This meeting is open to all members of the chamber, and members in good standing (that means current on your dues) are invited to take part in the elections of officers and directors for the year 2008.

Chamber President Howard Hakes starts the meeting at 7:30 a.m., and it’s held at the Chamber office, 3131 Foothill Blvd. #D. So, if you have ever wondered what goes on at these early morning meetings, or are curious of us, please come by. Admission is free.

For more information on these events, or future ones, give us a call at 248-4957, or check us out at lacrescenta.org.

JEAN MALUCCIO is executive director of the Crescenta Valley Chamber of Commerce.
