As a bonus, Dea McCrory, third vice president of fundraising, provided a small silent auction that brought in considerable bounty for the philanthropic organization.

Co-chairwomen were Carol Huntwork and Carol Stein. This year’s event was attended by twice the amount of guests as the previous year.

SOROPTIMIST INTERNATIONAL OF GLENDALE SEEKS WOMEN

Soroptimist International of Glendale is seeking applicants for its “Making a Difference for Women” Award.

This award honors a woman who through her professional or personal activities makes extraordinary efforts on behalf of women and girls in Glendale.

RANGER VISITS GLENDALE BEAUTIFUL MEETING

Glendale Beautiful will have its luncheon meeting on Tuesday at the Joe Bridges Clubhouse, 2531 E. Glenoaks Blvd., Glendale.

The social time is at 11:30 a.m. followed by luncheon at noon.

City park ranger Russ Hauck will be the guest speaker and Marissa Chandler, actress and vocalist with the Glendale Centre Theatre, will present a musical program.

YOUNG IN SPIRIT CLUB WILL MEET FOR FELLOWSHIP

The Young In Spirit Club, a nonprofit organization for people 55 and older, will meet at 11:45 a.m. Wednesday at Incarnation School Auditorium, 1001 N. Brand Blvd., Glendale.

RESIDENTS ATTEND MASTER CHORALE DINNER DANCE

The Los Angeles Master Chorale pulled out the stops for its elegant Black and White Ball, honoring arts supporters Marguerite and Robert Marsh, on Nov. 10 at the California Club in downtown Los Angeles.

Residents attending were Steering Committee members Carolyn Miller, of Burbank; Annette Emshar, of Glendale; Elizabeth Redmond, of La Cañada Flintridge; and Marina Raines, of Glendale.

The Art Deco-themed evening, which included period musical entertainment, live and silent auctions and a dinner raised $275,000 for the Los Angeles Master Chorale, a resident company of the Music Center and the resident chorus of Walt Disney Concert Hall.
