TREATMENT CENTER SCHEDULES OPEN HOUSE

Five Acres’ treatment center for abused and at-risk children inaugurates its 120th holiday season with a public open house from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Dec. 6 signaling the beginning of the annual toy drive for the youngsters in its care.

It will feature a performance by children in residence guided by members of Los Angeles Opera who work with the youth year round as part of its community outreach.

The 2008 Tournament of Roses Queen and her court will also appear with the children and there will be tours of the facility.

Five Acres’ wish list of donations is an important factor in fulfilling the holiday hopes for children ages 6 to 18 in residential care and group homes.

Retail store gift certificates, theme park passes and tickets to theater and sporting events are particularly requested.

Unwrapped gifts may be brought to Five Acres during the open house and throughout the holiday season.

Participants from Glendale include committee member Michael FitzGerald, guild members Carol Case and Lynn Yaghoubian, auxiliary member Meg Oliver, former board member George Reyes. Memberswho work in Glendale are board member Leslie Lyons, committee member Jay Davis andcommittee member John Martin.
