The Arroyo Singers — A women’s chorale that has performed at numerous venues in the San Gabriel area since their founding in 1961 has completed its winter concert and is now looking for new members. They will be taking a short break before resuming practice in preparation for their spring concert.

Kiwanis Club Travel Adventure Series — Jan. 12, 7:30 p.m. The Kiwanis Club of La Cañada sponsors its 48th annual Travel Adventure Series. All programs have been produced using the finest digital cinema techniques and are presented by the original filmmakers relating their personal experiences. They are held in the auditorium of the Flintridge Preparatory School, at the corner of Crown Avenue and Foothill Boulevard in La Cañada Flintridge. Tickets for individual performances are $8. Jan. 12, Sandy Mortimer presents “Irish Stories & Glories”; Feb. 23, “Hollywood’s Magic Isle — Catalina” will be presented by Chick Liddell; April 12, “La Manche, the English Channel” will be presented by Monte and Marsha Brown; and on April 26, “Soul of Morocco” by Rick Rey. MEETINGS

Verdugo Hills Art Association — Jan. 4 at 7 p.m. Bruce Trentham, renowned fine artist, will be the featured presenter at the Verdugo Hills Art Association meeting. Trentham’s demonstration in pastel is open to the public for a $5 donation. The Verdugo Hills Art Association meeting will be held at the Citibank Community Room, 2350 Honolulu Avenue in Montrose.
