BOYS’ BASKETBALL

Hoover 64, L.A. Wilson 34: Shara Davoodi finished with a game-high 34 points Thursday to lead the Tornadoes (7-5) to a resounding victory in a consolation-bracket game of the La Salle/Temple City Holiday Classic at La Salle High.

Rene Karamian collected 11 points for Hoover, which got 10 from Dontray Williams.

Hoover will meet Montebello in another tournament contest at 4:30 p.m. today at the same venue.

Renaissance Academy 74, Belmont 42: Senior guard Justin Cook poured in 23 points and sophomore Deandre Daniels added 22 points, as the Wildcats rolled in a pool-play game of the San Gabriel Tournament on Thursday.

The Wildcats (11-2) take on El Monte at 4 p.m. today. The winner will advance to the tournament’s title game, which will begin at 6 p.m. Saturday.

Flintridge Prep 58, Gladstone 43: Junior guard Aaron Fried finished with 15 points to pace the Rebels in a pool-play victory at the San Gabriel Tournament on Thursday.

Flintridge Prep (9-1) received a solid game from backup point guard Ryan Yamamoto, who finished with eight assists.

The Rebels will take on host San Gabriel at 7 p.m. today in the final game of pool play.

GIRLS’ BASKETBALL

Flintridge Prep 38, Canoga Park 19: Alina Khodadian finished with 12 points, nine rebounds and four assists Thursday to propel the Rebels (7-3) in a first-round game of the Canoga Park Tournament. Courtney Takeda added 11 points for Flintridge Prep, which won the tournament last year.

The Rebels will meet East Valley or L.A. Jefferson in a winner’s-bracket game at noon today.
