Sophomore Deanna Watson added six points, five steals and seven rebounds for Prep, which entered the contest ranked ninth in the CIF-Southern Section Division IV-A rankings.

Poly (13-9, 4-3), which was outscored, 38-12, after halftime, was led by Tammy Newman’s 12 points and nine rebounds.

Both teams struggled from the outside, combining to go 0 for 15 from three-point range.

After the deciding third quarter, the only thing left in doubt was to see if Prep senior guard Courtney Robinson could follow up her triple-double on Friday night with an encore performance Saturday.

Robinson recorded 15 points, 11 steals and 10 rebounds in Friday’s victory over Westridge.

While Robinson fell just short of a triple-double Saturday, she still turned in a stellar all-around game, finishing with 10 points, seven steals, six assists and six rebounds.

The Rebels have now won six in a row and will look for their 38th straight league victory at 5 p.m. Tuesday when they host Webb.

“We just have to stay focused and do the little things,” Khodadian said.
