Hospital names new director

Officials at Verdugo Hills Hospital have appointed a new director to its diagnostic services department.

Scott Cameron, who joined the hospital in 2003 as the director of medical imaging, will now supervise the work of more than 120 employees in the medical imaging and cardiology departments.

Cameron worked in cardiology diagnostics during his tenure at the medical center and briefly served as a laboratory director.

Before coming to Verdugo Hills, Cameron was the director of the imaging science center at USC and the director of imaging at St. Luke’s Hospital in Pasadena.

Cameron said he is looking forward to Verdugo Hills becoming the first hospital in the area to use digital mammography equipment.

The digital mammography delivers faster results and exposes patients to less radiation.
