The council voted unanimously to send a letter to the county to request that a feasibility study for a bicycle lane along Foothill Boulevard in La Crescenta be conducted.
The neighboring cities of Glendale and La Cañada-Flintridge, which border La Crescenta to the west and east respectively, have tentative plans to add a bike lane along Foothill Boulevard.
County representatives have already indicated to the council that there are funds budgeted for such a study, Councilman Robert Thomas said.

The council will draft and approve the letter and send it to the appropriate county department.
The council voted to send a letter to the Los Angeles County Regional Planning Department, urging the department to strike a rule from the proposed Foothill Boulevard Community Standards District that would allow “for sale” signs to stay up for only 30 days, three times a year.
The council sided with Realtors who say the rule would be disruptive to business. A local Realtors association suggested the limit be extended to 60 days, but the council opted to eliminate the rule entirely, Council Mayor Grace Andrus said.
WHAT IT MEANS
The Foothill Boulevard Community Standards District — a set of design guidelines for the commercial corridor — is awaiting final approval from the county.
The Regional Planning Department will have ultimate authority on whether to strike the “for sale” sign rule per the council’s wish.
