14th Annual Trail Day Hike April 19 from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. The La Cañada Flintridge Trails Council presents the annual event that begins at the Horse Lane Trail, 200 Foothill Blvd., La Cañada. T-shirts, refreshments, trail maps, trail information and children’s activities will be available.

CHILDREN’S EVENTS

Friday Storytimes Through May 30. The La Cañada Flintridge Library has announced its Friday Storytimes for April and May. Toddler storytimes are at 10:15 a.m., and preschool storytimes are at 11 a.m. This additional time is to accommodate more people in the library’s extended service area and to provide more choices for parents with busy schedules.

12th Annual Butterfly Release April 19, at 1:30 p.m. Kidspace Children’s Museum marks the culmination of its six-week Caterpillar Adoption program with the 12th Annual Butterfly Release during the Kidspace Butterfly Festival on Saturday, April 19. Kidspace Children’s Museum is open Tuesday through Sunday from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tickets are $8 for children and adults (infants under 1 and Members are free). Kidspace is located at 480 N. Arroyo Blvd., in Brookside Park, Pasadena. (Just opposite the Rose Bowl.)

CLASSES

Tap Dancing Class (10 week session) April 15 to June 17 two classes from 7:15 p.m. to 8:15 p.m., or 8:15 p.m. to 9:15 p.m. For beginning students or experienced tappers, held at the Community Center of La Cañada Flintridge, 4469 Chevy Chase Drive, La Cañada. Students need tap shoes and comfortable clothes. This class is offered at two different times on Tuesday night. Instructor is Deborah Gillins. Fee is $110.
