Owner Harry Hall has put his personal effort into our community.
Milano’s is a unique, single-operator restaurant that adds to our environment. With all the chain restaurants coming into Glendale (i.e., Cheesecake Factory and Outback Steakhouse), I find having an option such as Milano’s to be a reason to go to downtown Glendale.
Thank you for listening.

Speaking move is what officials wanted
With regard to Mayor John Drayman’s actions to curtail oral communications (“Mayor Drayman faces first salvo,” Thursday) we should paraphrase Benjamin Franklin.
Those who sacrifice essential public input to gain temporary efficiency deserve neither. But, then again, that may be precisely what the city management wants.

Communications change is right one
We watched the City Council meeting on Tuesday and were elated to hear Mayor John Drayman set new rules in place (“Mayor Drayman faces first salvo,” Thursday).
We felt all were the right decisions, but the one that pleased us the most was moving oral communications to the end of the meeting. Many times we have either tuned in or actually gone to the City Council meetings because of an issue that has been placed on the agenda — an issue that was important enough to be put on the agenda.
On two occasions those put on the agenda items did not even begin until 10 p.m. Oral communications is allotted one hour, but with comments from council members, it has gone well over an hour. With this new rule in place the put on the agenda items can now actually commence at a reasonable time.
We applaud Drayman for this move.

Letter writer Jeff Kurtti is correct about the purpose of California’s redevelopment laws and their implementation (“Critic’s assessment was way off-base,” Mailbag, Wednesday).
