Cheers to ‘My Thoughts’columnist

Just wanted to write on how much we enjoy Jim Chase’s in the Crescenta Valley Sun. It’s so well titled, “My Thoughts, Exactly.” His innate sense of humor makes a great companion to that few moments of paper-reading at the breakfast table. It’s a great counterpoint to all the negative headlines we see, even in the great “Wall St. Journal” (we do not take the L.A. Times). In fact, Chase is the reason we have now moved the Sun to an important priority. We don’t just skip through it like we used to.

Kudos to the Sun for recognizing a great creative talent.

Keep up the excellent work.

More thoughts on former Nissan lot

Here’s another idea for the auto dealers on Foothill: Since Bob Smith Toyota can’t seem to find a design for their proposed expansion that pleases their neighbors on Mary Street, maybe they should buy the Foothill Nissan property. That would likely have plenty of room for them. The restaurant that Terry Kappen proposes [“Trade in dealership for eatery,” Our Readers Write, April 18] could then be built on the front of the Toyota lot where it wouldn’t block the neighbors’ view and it would be a more attractive addition to the street [rather] than another strip mall.

Criticizes those ‘holier than thou’

What I love about diatribes from people that are so “holier than thou” is that they are too close-minded to see anything beyond their boxed in view of the world [“Studies show, not so much ,” Our Readers Write, April 18].
