MACK International gala held Saturday

Mountain Avenue Elementary’s Foundation gala filled the school’s courtyard with balloons and silent auction baskets.

The Mountain Avenue is Committed to Kids (MACK) International fundraising gala was brought back home to the school’s campus after 10 years.

In the past, the event was at local country clubs and restaurants, but this year the Foundation board decided to bring it back to the school to make it more accessible to all parents, according to MACK president Greg Grande.

For 16 years the Foundation has supported the school by helping to offset the increasing costs faced by the district. MACK funds help support the computer lab by purchasing computers and new software as well as for funding a computer aide. They also cover the costs for a part-time librarian.

The event took place Saturday night with several hundred people in attendance, greeted by principal Rebeca Witt (bottom right).
