The Glendale Adventist Medical Center invites cancer patients and their caregivers to enjoy a day of celebration and hope on Friday, June 6 from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the center. The event is being held to celebrate cancer survivors as well a remember those who have lost their fight against the disease.

Participants will listen to inspirational speakers share experiences of determination and encouragement. They will also enjoy performances by Davis Francis Phillips, Glory Bound and Aileen Zanteson.

Glendale Adventist Medical Center is located at 1509 Wilson Terrace, in Glendale. Featured are “Look Good, Feel Better” makeovers and lunch from 11:45-1:30 p.m. Seating is limited; RSVP at (818) 409-8100.

Red Cross holding tasty event

The Glendale-Crescenta Valley Chapter of the American Red Cross is offering the opportunity to compare the fine wines of California and the Southern Hemisphere, along with select chocolate and cheese samples, during their wine, chocolate and cheese tasting and art exhibit fundraiser. The event is on Thursday, June 12, from 5:30 to 8 p.m. in the Forest Lawn Museum, 1712 S. Glendale Ave.
