Those wonderful teachers did not deserve to be treated so horribly, after giving that school and church their total dedication and loyalty for their many years of service.
The principal and teachers were the very reasons we had our children there, and it will be impossible to ever match their experience, knowledge, support and genuine care.
Clearly, once you separate the hyperbole from the “real” agenda and dissect the truth from the lies, it comes down to power, control and ego.
It truly is the children who are the victims in this sad story, and if Hart had an ounce of Drummond’s wisdom, what a great school we could have again.

Please save our Chevy Chase library
I am writing to let the residents of Chevy Chase Canyon know that our lovely library is slated to be closed in July (“Budget cuts will hit everywhere,” June 5).
The library and all city services have been asked to cut their budget.
We would like to see our quaint, friendly library stay open, even if the hours have to be reduced. Many more programs can be offered there to increase attendance as well. I know our neighborhood would be willing and able to volunteer time.
I urge all residents to come to the City Council meeting at 6 p.m. Tuesday and voice their feelings about this matter. Please sign our petition at www.ipetitions.com/petition/ChevyChaseLibrary, and please write to the council.

Dual-immersion program is an asset
Can you imagine a public school providing students with a second language at no extra cost to taxpayers?
Can you imagine children of different socioeconomic and ethnic backgrounds studying together and learning one another’s languages?
