How could you not feel low about all that is going on in the world with foreclosures, gas prices, job losses and increased food costs? You cannot help yourself or the world by focusing on the negative things. When you focus on the negative, you only add to it. I know things seem dim, but remember all the beautiful things in life. Don’t they far outweigh the negative?

Congratulations to Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory! It was voted number one as the Best Merchandised Store. There were over 300 stores in the running for this award, so good job, Rosinna! Just some of the great things going on at the location at 2631 Foothill Blvd. in La Crescenta: Balboa Island frozen bananas; buy 2 apples, get one free; Fudge Friday — buy a half pound get half pound free; Tuesday Truffles 2 for; and they are now serving soft serve yogurt. Join us on Wednesday, Aug. 13 at 5:45 p.m. for a ribbon cutting at the newly remodeled Oceanview Contemporary Bistro located at 3826 Oceanview Blvd. in Montrose. The restaurant will be donating 10% of the proceeds for the evening to the Verdugo Hills Hospital Foundation Women’s Council. People, do take advantage of sales, that’s why businesses have them: to entice new business. Your Chamber is no different in this aspect, so the summer sale has been extended through the month of August. The Chamber of Commerce is in business to provide our members with a better community in which to live and make a living. Get involved with your Chamber and find out what we’re doing today and what we’re going to do tomorrow. The summer time is a busy time and we want to make sure all businesses have the opportunity to join the Chamber. The Chamber has added another full month for a great savings.
