Goldsworthy said he decided to run for council, not because he sees any specific problems there that he can solve, but because, “I think I have a lot to offer the council; I feel I’m in touch with the community.”

He cites his involvement in the community, as a more than 20-year volunteer with the Crescenta Valley Sheriff’s Station, longtime business owner, and through helping out with C.V. High’s Prom Plus. “We work all year for one night,” he said, of the event that offers an alternative after prom event for high school seniors and their guests.

Goldsworthy previously served on the board of the Crescenta Valley Chamber of Commerce and helped found the Sheriff Support Group, a fundraising arm of the Crescenta Valley Sheriff’s Station, which meets some of the financial needs of the station not otherwise met within the county’s budget, Goldsworthy explained.

Goldsworthy also is a helicopter pilot and can often be seen flying over the community in his private helicopter, affectionately known as Valley Sun/VS1.
