Four-week class to begin Nov. 10

La Crescenta Center for Spiritual Living presents Practitioner Karen Morse from 7 to 9:15 p.m. Nov. 10, 17 and 24 at the Center. She will address how to successfully eradicate the fear and panic which seems to be abounding in these times of economic downturn.

Pre-registration is $100, and $120 at the door, which does not include the textbook (“Spiritual Economics” by Eric Butterworth).

Check in begins at 6:45 p.m. Books may be purchased the first evening or before the class in the church bookstore.

Empty Bowls — Hope Not Hunger

Crescenta Vallley United Methodist Church presents Empty Bowls — Hope Not Hunger.

The fundraiser will benefit Pasadena’s Friends in Deed food pantry, Glendale Loaves & Fishes food pantry, and Christians Concerned for Burma.

A donation of $15 gets you one of 600 beautiful bowls made by local potters at the Roger Barkley Community Center and CVHS, and a bowl of tasty soup donated by one of our local restaurants.

Drop by anytime from 5 to 9 p.m. on Nov. 22 to the church, at 2700 Montrose Ave.

Montrose Community Church’s evangelism training program, titled “Way of the Master,” continues Wednesdays at 7 p.m. The class is led by “Way of the Master” trainer Dede Vena and Montrose Community Church Pastor Rev. Bryan Griem.
