Club’s luncheon earns scholarships

Glendale Beautiful will next meet Dec. 2.

Entertainment will be provided by Glendale High School’s Hand Bell Choir.

Many little girls dream of being a princess. And that was no exception at Vera Bradley at the Americana at Brand on Saturday.

A couple of dozen mini-princesses-for-a-day donned tiaras and held white roses as they were photographed with the Rose Queen and Royal Court of the 2009 Pasadena Tournament of Roses.

Rose Queen Courtney Lee, 17, surrounded by her royal court of Princess Molly Novell, 18, Princess Bridget McDonald, 18, Princess Mary Gaule, 17, Princess Jasmine Jenkins, 17, Princess Lauren Valenzuela, 18, and Princess Quinn Young, 17.

Little princesses-in-training from Glendale were Kayleigh Scott, 6, with mom Melody Scott; Valerie Shovlin, 3, accompanied by big sister Katherine Shovlin, 5, Shelby Sartor, 18 months, with mom Stacy Sartor, and Kyra Freemon, 4, with her mother in tow, Jennifer Freemon.

For this event, 10% of the net proceeds from the sale of all items in the Pinwheel Pink pattern benefits the Vera Bradley Foundation for Breast Cancer.

Vera Bradley’s Hope Grows parade float can be seen in the 120th Pasadena Tournament of Roses Parade on Jan. 1.
