We are blessed with a wonderfully broad and diverse population of people from throughout the world who now make their home here in our community. Our religious cultures are varied and serve their members and our community in many ways.

The Glendale Rotary Club has begun a weekly series of programs that will feature the background and work done by local religious organizations.

The club’s first speaker was Chaplain Al Garcilazo from Glendale Adventist Medical Center. Garcilazo told the club about the basis of the Seventh Day Adventist religion. He then talked about how he serves the needs of patients at the hospital.

He talked about his mission of providing spiritual care for patients of many religions.

When patients are not Glendale Adventist, he also seeks out the religious leaders of the patients’ faith to come to the hospital to serve their members.

Glendale Rotary Club meets at noon every Thursday at the Hilton Glendale, 100 W. Glenoaks Blvd., Glendale.
